Air Canada restarts Dublin flights from Vancouver
Flag carrier Air Canada has restarted its seasonal service between Dublin and Vancouver for summer.
The route resumption comes as Air Canada gears up for one of its busiest ever transatlantic schedules.
It comprises nearly 50 routes between Europe and Canada, including three from Dublin Airport.
To mark the annual restart of this key route, Air Canada has announced a further capacity increase in addition to the existing capacity increase announced in February,
It is the result of increased demand for travel to British Columbia.
The news follows the announcement that Dublin Airport’s passenger cap has been temporarily suspended, allowing airlines to operate additional flights.
Irish customers travelling to Vancouver have a choice of five weekly flights, which is up from three in previous years.
Previously running from June to September, the summer season is now extended from May to October.
Air Canada is the only airline to fly between Dublin and British Columbia.
Bláithín O’Donnell, Air Canada Sales Manager, Ireland, said: “We’re thrilled to be expanding our service this summer, in response to growing demand.”
“We have slowly been increasing capacity throughout the year, in line with customer demand, but wanted to further strengthen our commitment to the market.”
