Air NZ suspends Seoul flight return due to engine issues

Air New Zealand is scrapping its planned return to Seoul later this year, citing the lack of engine availability for its planes.
The seasonal Seoul flights which end next month, won’t restart as previously scheduled in October 2025.
The airline’s last seasonal flight from Seoul Incheon to Auckland is on 29 March 2025.
“We understand this will be disappointing, and we sincerely apologise for the impact. Due to the ongoing challenges with engine availability, we have reviewed our network to ensure we are set up to operate our schedule effectively,” said Air NZ chief commercial officer, Jeremy O’Brien.
Customers with bookings on the impacted flights will be contacted by the airline for alternative options on s partner airlines.
Customers can also apply for a flight credit or receive a full refund.
The airline has options to connect via Singapore, Taipei, or Hong Kong, and continue to Seoul via a partner airline.
“We would like to thank customers for their patience and understanding while we work through this change,” O’Brien added.
“As aircraft and engines become available, we will review our network and make decisions based on customer demand,” the airline said.
