Air China to launch its first flights to Europe from Beijing-Daxing International
Beijing newest airport, Daxing, will get its first European flights as national carrier Air China’s plans to launch flights to Frankfurt and Milan.
Air China’s planned nonstop routes from Beijing Daxing to Frankfurt and Milan are set to elevate the airport’s global standing while reshaping air links between Europe and China.
Beijing Daxing International is now considered by the carrier as an international hub. The airport is emerging as a key pillar in Air China’s long-haul strategy. The airline’s anticipated expansion into Frankfurt and Milan creates a second Beijing gateway to some of Europe’s busiest hubs, strengthening connectivity for business travelers, cargo operators, and transfer passengers.
Flights to Frankfurt from and to Daxing will start on April 28, 2026 with a daily service in a Boeing 777-300ER. In parallel, Air China will however reduce its frequencies between Beijing Capital and Frankfurt. Instead of flying 17 times per week, the carrier will reduce its presence to 10 weekly services.
On June 13, the carrier will start a second service to Europe with a daily flight between Daxing International and Milan Malpensa with an Airbus A330-300. Air China will however continue to operate a daily Beijing Capital-Milan Malpensa service, flying an Airbus A350-900.
For Daxing Airport, the addition of Frankfurt and Milan represents another step toward a more balanced portfolio that includes long-haul services alongside its strong domestic and regional base. Capacity data indicates a steady increase in intercontinental flights, supported by the redeployment of wide-body aircraft and the gradual easing of operational constraints.
