Air France signs full access deal with Galileo
Agents using Galileo will have full access to all Air France fares through the GDS in a deal which runs until the end of 2008.
The agreement will see global fare parity with all direct sales channels, allowing agents to compete more effectively with online channels.
Another element of the arrangement covers product enhancements to the Galileo system due to be implemented towards the end of the year.
“These will allow Galileo to offer a broad range of solutions globally that will be of mutual benefit to the travel agency community, Air France and Galileo,” a statement from Galileo owner Cendant Travel Distribution Services said.
Matthew Hall, vice-president airline services EMEA for Cendant TDS, said: “By delivering yet another full content airline deal to our agency community we are clearly demonstrating this commitment, and continuing to help shape a more sustainable future for all in the industry.
“Content is key to our agency customers, and access to that content in an effective way is critical. The level of content and its effective distribution is a key differentiator for Galileo and we are delighted to be able to deliver again on this essential customer requirement.”
Air France vice-president distribution & e-commerce Henri Hourcade said: “The agency distribution channel continues to play a pivotal role in our overall strategy and our agreement with Galileo International enables us to continue to serve this channel with the highest level of content, while at the same time allowing us to achieve our business goals”.
