Air India union slams new ‘BMI weight check ‘rule
Air India’s cabin crew union has criticised a new procedure for pre-flight Body Mass Index (BMI) and weight checks for flight attendants.
The union fired off a strongly-worded letter against BMI checks being carried out by non-medical ‘grooming associates.’ The BMI checks have been carried out for years but only by doctors in private rooms at medical clinics.
The AICCA union has threatened to take legal action if checks by grooming associates are not withdrawn.
