Air Marshals “falling asleep on job”
Air marshals on flights in the United States have been falling asleep on the job, taking drugs and even losing their weapons, according to a US Government report.
The Daily Mail reports that in an eight-month period, some 753 misconduct reports were filed against marshals – and that, in addition, some applicants for the job were being accepted despite accusations of “domestic violence, drinking and driving, or sexual harassment”.
The US report, released yesterday by the Homeland Security Department, went on to say that some of those hired for the job had showed “poor judgement and irresponsible and emotionally unstable behaviour, The Mail states.
