Air NZ chops Nadi – Los Angeles services
An NZPA report says that Air New Zealand is suspending its three flights a week service between Fiji and Los Angeles from April 26.
Instead, Air New Zealand will expand its codeshare agreement with Air Pacific from four services per week to six services per week.
The code-share service will connect to and from Air New Zealand’s London services to ensure the flow of Northern Hemisphere tourism into Fiji, the airline said.
International manager Ed Sims said the code-share agreement with Air Pacific announced last year was working well.
He said it was pragmatic decision for the airline which is switching its Boeing 767-300ER aircraft on to higher yielding routes.
The new arrangement meant Air New Zealand code-share services between Nadi and Los Angeles would operate every day, except Fridays.
Mr Sims said Air New Zealand remained committed to a strong presence in the Pacific and its capacity between New Zealand and Fiji would not be affected by the schedule change.
