Air NZ Houston flights to go daily for peak season

Tuesday, 25 Mar, 2016 0
Air New Zealand’s Auckland-Houston route, which launched late last year, will run daily during the peak Southern Hemisphere summer period.

The current five times a week service will expand to daily departures from December 5, 2016 to February 5, 2017.

"Sales are strong with Kiwi and Australian customers loving the fact they can now access the US midwest and south as well as key destinations such as Chicago and New York via Houston," Air NZ chief sales and commercial officer Cam Wallace said in a statement.

"We’re also seeing good growth in the number of American travellers using this service to visit New Zealand and Australia. We look forward to offering even more options for customers through increased frequency on this route."

Air NZ’s Star Alliance partner United Airlines has a big presence at the Texas airport, offering numerous onward US connections.

Air NZ’s chief executive Christopher Luxon recently said the Houston route has shown strong sales revenue ‘from day one.’

Air NZ also flies direct to Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver and Buenos Aires in the Americas.
