Air Sahara makes London debut
Private Indian airline Air Sahara is to start Heathrow-Delhi flights today.
The carrier is to use Boeing 767s on the route with 193 seats, comprising 10 in Business Class Premium, 32 Business Class and 151 in economy.
Business Class Premium has 64-inch seat pitch with lie-flat beds while Business Class has 55-inch seat pitch. Both Business Classes of service have individual seat in-flight entertainment units.
Air Sahara’s London–Delhi four flights a week will operate from Heathrow Terminal 1.
The airline’s president Ronojoy Dutta said: “It is with immense pride that we launch our operations to and from the United Kingdom. We believe that once passengers experience the ‘Sahara way’ onboard our aircraft to and from Delhi they will return for more.
“Air Sahara offers a range of fares for all travellers and look forward to seeing the route grow from four a week to daily.
“January 6 will clearly be a significant milestone in Air Sahara’s global expansion, marking our inaugural flight to Europe. Together with our flights to Singapore, Colombo and Kathmandu, and our code-share flight to Chicago, we now offer our customers a convenient way to fly to major international destinations.”
Air Sahara has a fleet of 27 aircraft and operates 132 flights a day, offering 12,000 seats to 28 destinations – Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakpur, Allahabad, Patna, Ranchi, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Goa, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Srinagar, Singapore, Coimbatore, Jammu, Vishakapatnam, Colombo, Kathmandu and London.
