Air Tahiti Nui code share with Air Tahiti to simplify travel to and within Polynesia

Saturday, 17 Jan, 2026 0

Air Tahiti Nui and Air Tahiti, the two Polynesian airlines serving complementary roles in the region, have signed a new codeshare agreement designed to make travel to and within French Polynesia easier and more seamless for international visitors.

Signed on December 22, 2025, the agreement represents a significant step in strengthening Air Tahiti Nui’s Pacific island offering and simplifying onward connections for its long-haul passengers. Initially, the partnership will focus on providing smoother access to two highly sought-after destinations: Bora Bora and Rarotonga in the Cook Islands.

Code-share to start from June 2026

Starting June 2, 2026, Air Tahiti Nui will place its “TN” code on a selection of flights operated by Air Tahiti. This will allow travelers to book a single ticket from major international gateways—including Paris-CDG, Auckland, Tokyo, and Los Angeles—directly to their final island destination. Bora Bora will be served by up to six daily flights, while Rarotonga will be offered twice weekly.

Air Tahiti Nui’s long-haul services are operated with Boeing 787-9 “Tahitian Dreamliners,” while inter-island routes are flown by Air Tahiti using ATR 72 aircraft.

The airlines say the agreement will improve journey continuity, simplify connections, and enhance access to some of the South Pacific’s most iconic destinations. Executives from both carriers described the deal as a new milestone in a close commercial partnership that has been developing for several years, aligned with Air Tahiti Nui’s broader strategy to boost the appeal of its international network through optimized regional connections.
