Air Transat halts all US flights for summer
Canadian carrier Air Transat will end all flights US transborder flights this summer.
The airline announced it will halt flights to two Florida services in 2026.
These are to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.
“Air Transat is canceling its flights to Florida for the 2026 summer season, with a gradual end of operations in the spring,” the airline said.
It hasn’t yet confirmed if they will restart for winter.
“The flight program to Florida for the 2026–2027 winter season will be determined at a later date.”
Air Transat’s US services only represent about 1% of its overall passenger capacity during the summer season.
“This adjustment is part of a proactive management of our capacity, as we focus our efforts on optimizing the deployment of our resources.”
It’s not the only airline pulling out of US routes.
WestJet also suspended several routes to US cities this summer, citing a ‘notable decline in transborder travel demand’ during 2025.
