AirAsia adding five million seats for 2024
Budget carrier AirAsia will ramp up capacity in 2024.
It is adding more than five million seats on key routes covering China, India and its home base Malaysia.
It adds up to more seats on 230 weekly flights.
AirAsia is anticipating demand to soar as Malaysia just announced visa-free travel for nationals of China and India.
Additionally, Malaysians also get visa-free travel to China.
The new visa rule relaxation begins on 1 December.
The visa-free facility grant stays of up to 30 days.
“The visa-free entry for the citizens of China and India will surely provide a welcome boost for Malaysia’s tourism and its economy,” said Group CEO Tony Fernandes.
