AirAsia extends credit validity to two years

Wednesday, 21 May, 2020 0

Stung by a flood of complaints over its handling of flight cancellation rebooking, AirAsia hopes to sweeten the deal for customers stuck with credit vouchers.

It recently extended the validity for credit vouchers from one year to two years.

Customers opting for or being forced to take a credit now have validity for up to 730 calendar days in advance.

It also offers further unlimited changes, as long as the initial change of date is made before 31 October 2020 on the same route.

It is only valid for direct online bookings made at airasia.com.

Customers who have already processed cancellations and taken a credit voucher will have the validity automatically extended to two years.

Since the airline began cancelling flights, the AVA chatbot has been overwhelmed by high volume of requests with the airline being bombarded by a high number of complaints.

"We are doing everything we can to assist our guests during this time. Please bear with us as we prioritise guests with immediate flight departure needs first," the airline said in a release.
