AirAsia launching Boracay flights from Taiwan
AirAsia will offer flights from Taiwan’s Taoyuan and Kaohsiung International Airports to Boracay in time for the reopening of the Philippines island later this month.
Boracay is scheduled to reopen on October 26 after a period of closure of several months to rehabilitate following years of unchecked development.
Flights will make a stopover in Manila en route to the holiday island.
The airline is marking the resumption of flights with special one-way fares priced at NT$2,696 before tax.
Authorities have put a cap on the number of tourists permitted on Boracay each day along with restrictions on water sports and open air entertainment to ensure the island’s tourism sector remains as sustainable as possible.
There will also be a cap on the number of daily flights.
