AirAsia launching new Cambodia airline
AirAsia owner Capital A plans to launch a new Cambodia airline subsidiary.
CEO Tony Fernandes says it hopes to start the business by late 2023.
Fernandes told Bloomberg Television the AirAsia Cambodia airline would begin operations with two jets and eventually scale up to a fleet of 15.
“We are confident of profitability in the first year,” Fernandes says.
The airline currently flies to Cambodia from Malaysia and Thailand.
AirAsia has closed its airline units in Japan and India in recent times.
