Airbus brushes up on SIA’s A380
TOULOUSE: It’s been a long wait, but the A380 destined for launch customer Singapore Airlines is getting closer to take-off every day.
Cabin installation over, Airbus has started the work on the aircraft in the company’s paint shop in Hamburg.
About 3,600 litres of chromate-free paint is used for three layers of paint on the A380.
And there’s more good news for Airbus. British Airways boss Willie Walsh in an interview with a German newspaper, is quoted as saying that he could imagine buying 10 to 15 A380 super-jumbos.
Walsh said a decision on BA aircraft orders could be expected in August or September this year, although he said that there was no rush.
Delays in deliveries of the A380 could keep BA waiting for an A380 until 2014.
