Airline introducing $1 soda pop
Forget the jokes about airlines turning next to pay toilets: It’s soda pop that’s about to cost extra.
American Eagle next month will become the first airline to charge $1 for a 12-ounce soda on flights into and out of Los Angeles.
The practice could be extended to other flights.
“That’s one of the reasons you test something, to see what kind of impact it might have,” Eagle spokesman Dave Jackson told The Washington Post.
He said the carrier may also experiment with snacks, pillows and blankets.
A la carte airline pricing is on the horizon, say travel experts.
