Airline launches option to pay fees annually
Among the deluge of fees coming from the airlines, United Airlines has taken a step to make things simpler, and perhaps even less expensive.
It has launched a subscription service that lets customers pay an annual fee for Economy Plus seating and checked baggage.
Subscriptions may be given as gifts or perks by friends, employers, and even travel agents.
An annual subscription to Economy Plus, which offers more legroom on most aircraft, starts at $499, and customers can select the region and the number of travellers on their subscription.
The checked baggage subscription starts at $349.
Customers may tailor their subscription by choosing up to two bags, the number of travellers, and preferred geographic region.
