Airline shares push ahead
There were mixed fortunes for travel and tourism shares yesterday as London’s main equity indices moved ahead.
The FTSE 100 index added 11.4 points to end the day at 4414.4, while the FTSE 250 gained an impressive 60.7 points and ended the day at 5943.7.
British Airways gained 6.5p to close at 249.75p, BAA added 5p to end the day at 534.5p, and Ryanair finished the session at 299.25p, up 8.625p.
