Airlines extend Sharm el-Sheikh cancellations
Thomas Cook and Thomson have followed British Airways in cancelling flights to Sharm el-Sheikh until mid January.
The holiday giants have confirmed they won’t operate any flights and packages to the Red Sea resort before January 14.
British Airways announced late last month that it wouldn’t resume flights to Sharm until January 14.
All airlines are waiting for the British Government to announce when it will be safe for flights to Sharm to operate. Regular passenger services from the UK have been suspended since November 5 when it was discovered terrorists had smuggled a bomb onto a Russian holiday flight from the resort, causing it to crash.
EasyJet and Monarch have suspended flights until January 6 in the expectation the Government will give them the go ahead to relaunch services shortly.
Thomas Cook and Thomson customers with reservations up to March 23 can amend their reservations to alternative destinations for travel up to the end of April without incurring the usual amendment fees.
