Airlines prepare for snow disruption at US East Coast airports
Airlines operating to the East Coast of the US are warning passengers of flight disruption due to severe storms forecast.
Passengers booked with airlines including British Airways, American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines are being given the option to change their flights without penalty if travelling to affected airports today.
Virgin said anyone booked to fly to Boston, Washington and New York Newark can re-book for travel up to February 12.
"If the same booking class is unavailable, book the lowest available class in the same cabin only waiving the fare difference," it said.
British Airways and American Airlines are also allowing passengers to rebook for travel up to February 12, even those passengers on flights that are still operating. BA said Boston, New York JFK and Newark would be worst affected but that other airports may also see more limited snowfalls.
