Airports could ditch 100ml liquid restriction by 2024

The ban on liquids over 100ml in hand luggage could be scrapped by 2024.
New technology would allow passengers to keep liquids of any amount in their bags.
It would also see the end of the requirement to remove laptops.
Special CT scanners would allow security to inspect bags from 3D images.
Trials of the new tech are taking place at Heathrow Airport and are expected to be introduced at airports by 2024.
