Airports to host The Cheeky Girls

Thursday, 12 Jun, 2003 0

Travellers heading abroad this summer will be delighted – or horrified – to learn that pop duo The Cheeky Girls are planning a tour of the country’s airports to promote their new single.

The pair, whose pride themselves on wearing the skimpiest shorts they can possibly get away with, will perform their single Hooray, Hooray, it’s a Cheeky Holiday at 10 airport terminals across the UK, along with their other hit tunes including the classic We Are The Cheeky Girls (Touch My Bum).

The airport tour is, of course, a ploy to promote Gabriela and Monica’s new single, which is based on the Boney M classic Hooray, Hooray, it’s a Holi-Holiday. Gabriela told The Sun: “We can’t wait to send people off on their summer holidays. Airports can be frustrating places and hopefully we can cheer everyone up if they are delayed.”

Among the airports that will host the act, should you wish to avoid them, are Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
