AITO launches campaign on financial protection
The Association of Independent Tour Operators has become the latest in the industry to launch a high-profile campaign to heighten awareness of financial protection for its customers.
AITO has developed a guide to reassure customers following the recent XL debacle.
It claims the financial protection offered by its members is well in excess of legal requirements and is “far superior” to that offered by some travel associations “which have been diluted in recent years”.
AITO Chairman Derek Moore from Explore said: “Booking a holiday can be a minefield for consumers – many automatically assume their holidays are protected when they aren’t.
“The new AITO 100% Financial Protection Campaign logo is the industry gold standard for protection and quality. We continue to lobby the Government on the confusing status of protection.”
AITO’s new logo is ‘Book a holiday with AITO and you are fully financially protected’.
AITO has drafted a simple one-page guide for the public to explain the technicalities of financial protection.
