Alaska Airlines launches ‘Ski the West’ promotion
Alaska Airlines is launching a new promotion aimed at winter sports enthusiasts, offering rewards such as free lift passes and free night skiing a selected ski resorts.
The airline’s ‘Ski the West’ promotion offers travelers the opportunity to earn a round trip to a ski destination and pay only for the taxes.
The promo is open to all customers who sign up for Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan by February 23 and take two round trip journeys to any two participating ski destinations.
Destinations include Mammoth, Sun Valley, Steamboat Springs and Big White.
Alaska has new ski destination flights this season from Portland, Oregon, to Lake Tahoe, San Diego and Mammoth, California, and from Seattle to Steamboat Springs.
Once at the destination, Alaska passengers need only show their boarding pass at selected partners to avail discounts and free activities, which vary according to the resort.
"We’re proud to provide our customers more nonstop flights to world-class winter destinations than any other carrier," said Joe Sprague, SVP of communications and external affairs at Alaska Airlines.
"Whether you’re a hard core skier or just looking for an excuse to go play for the weekend, Alaska Airlines’ ‘Ski the West’ promotion makes planning a getaway simple and affordable."
To celebrate the ‘Ski the West’ campaign, Alaska will launch two ski themed planes in December to promote nonstop services to Squaw Valley, near Lake Tahoe, and Snowbird and Snowbasin, located near Salt Lake City.
