Alaskan Airlines poo poos diaper disaster
After some negative publicity, Alaska Airlines decided to reimburse an Alberta couple the US$1,000 they paid for new plane tickets to get home after the airline gave away their seats when they were delayed by a diaper disaster.
Dan Blais and Colleen Roberge, who are from the Edmonton suburb of St. Albert, were contacted by the Seattle-based airline and told the company would pay them back, according to the Edmonton Journal.
The couple, and their eight-month-old son Levi, were headed home from Las Vegas, and had passed through security with 20 minutes to spare. As they approached the boarding gate, Levi soiled himself so badly that Roberge had to take him into the bathroom to clean him and replace his diaper.
Meanwhile, an Alaska Airlines employee gave her ticket to a standby traveller.
The couple was offered the chance to fly standby themselves, which might have taken two or three days.
