Allegiant Air launching Nashville flights to Key West
Low cost carrier Allegiant is coming to Key West.
Allegiant will start flying to Key West International Airport from Nashville in the summer.
The service will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturday aboard Airbus A319 aircraft, beginning on 2 June.
"Travelers are seeking destinations that allow them to recreate in a safe way, usually outdoors," said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s Vice President of Revenue and Planning.
The airline says it has seen growing interest from travelers in major metro areas seeking outdoor vacation options.
It marks another new airline customer for the Florida airport.
"This is more exciting news for Key West. Nashville is such a phenomenal city," said Richard Strickland, Director of Airports for Monroe County.
It is part of a big expansion just announced by Allegiant.
The expansion includes two other new cities on Allegiant’s route network – Portland, Oregon and Jackson, Wyoming.
