Allegiant heading to Big Easy
The Big Easy will become the latest new destination for the Allegiant Airlines network.
There will be four nonstop routes flying into New Orleans next year including a year-round service from Orlando Sanford.
Three seasonal routes will connect the Midwest cities of Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio.
New Orleans, becomes Allegiant’s 14th ‘destination city’ as it gradually shifts its focus away from launching new flights from underserved provincial cities to more established vacation spots.
"We are very excited to announce New Orleans as our newest destination city and to offer Allegiant travelers the option of vacationing in New Orleans for less," said Jude Bricker, Allegiant Travel SVP of planning.
"Over 75% of New Orleans visitors are here for vacation, making the city a perfect fit for Allegiant’s brand of low-cost leisure travel."
Allegiant’s New Orleans service begins from Cincinnati on February 4 and from Indianapolis, Columbus and Orlando the following day.
All the new routes will operate twice weekly.
Allegiant is offering introductory one-way fares on the new routes from $45 if booked by tomorrow November 20 for travel until May 5, 2015.
