Amadeus grows UK share
Amadeus is claiming to have exceeded its GDS rivals in growing its UK market share this year.
The GDS says it now has a market share of 21% in the UK thanks to the signing of around 50 new clients in the first 9 months of 2003. A statement said the company “continues to have the strongest growth of all the GDS’ in this [UK] market”.
One of the companies to join the Amadeus client list this year was NST Travel Group plc, an educational tour operator that migrated from Galileo. Another company migrating from Galileo was Steamond Travel, a South American travel specialist based in London.
Amadeus UK director of sales, Peter Cacioppo (pictured) said: “With our track record of successful customer migration, it is clear that we are not asking anyone to take a ‘leap of faith.’ Considering our meteoric growth over the past two years, it is safe to say that no other GDS has as much experience as Amadeus when it comes to successfully migrating new business.”
