Amadeus to enhance cruise booking process
Amadeus is piloting an e-cruise platform for travel companies to use across multiple channels.
Amadeus e-cruise includes an agents’ booking engine and a consumer booking engine so that travel providers can use it in shops, call-centres and online.
The e-cruise technology has maps of some 10,000 cruise itineraries as well as images provided by on-board webcams.
The software, which will be available early next year, also features a business reporting tool with 200 different reports such as customer tracking and customer profitability.
The GDS has also been working alongside Comtec on a version of its Amadeus Cruise technology for tour operators to integrate it into their systems.
The technology, which will be available in the next couple of months, will allow fully automated cruise bookings and remove any current manual processes.
Amadeus has also developed Amadeus Cruise Data Exchange for agents to automatically download passenger and itinerary booking information into their back office systems.
At present, when an agent has made a cruise booking the information has to be manually entered into the back office system. The exchange solution can be integrated into existing back office systems.
