American Airlines preps for busiest ever Thanksgiving holiday
American Airlines expects to carry more than 7.8 million travelers during the Thanksgiving travel period.
That would be a record for the airline.
The holiday period runs from November 16-28.
“We are running the best operation in our airline’s history,” said David Seymour, American’s Chief Operating Officer.
During severe weather and other disruptions, American says it has been recovering faster than its rivals, minimizing the impact.
It is confident of keeping planes running on time throughout the Thanksgiving travel period.
American’s secret weapon is the Hub Efficiency Analytics Tool (HEAT), a tool which enables American to adjust flight operations around severe weather and smart gating, which reduces taxi times at its largest hubs.
