American Airlines pushes back Haiti flight return
American Airlines will not restart Haiti flights early next year due to ongoing civil unrest.
AA said it will continue to evaluate a return to service over the coming months.
“We have made the difficult decision to suspend daily service between Miami and Port-au-Prince, Haiti,” a spokesperson said.
“We are proud of our more than 50-year commitment to Haiti and we will continue to monitor the situation.”
The airline will offer a full refund to affected travelers.
Several airlines including Spirit and JetBlue have halted operations as per a FAA directive after planes from Haiti were hit by gunfire last month.
