American and Iberia Express get DOT nod for new codeshare
American Airlines and Iberia Express have received approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation for a new codeshare agreement.
The new agreement allows American to put its code on Iberia Express flights marketed by Iberia, between its Madrid hub and 14 destinations throughout Europe. Flights are available for sale September 4 for travel beginning September 10.
The airline said that the new code share agreement between the two oneworld alliance carriers would extend the alliance network to offer better connections between North America and Europe.
