American to offer three-class cabin on coast to coast flights

American Airlines has announced that it will become the only airline offering a three-class service and lie-flat first and business class seats on transcontinental services.

 

The airline will configure some of the A321 aircraft it has an order for use on coast to coast flights from the beginning of November 2013 through to 2014. Each will offer 10 fuly lie-flat seats in First Class and 20 in Business Class.

 

It will also install wi-fi onboard, personal entertainment systems in every seat as well as power sockets and USB jacks.

 

The A321 transcontinental aircraft will replace American’s existing fleet of Boeing 767-200s and fly between New York JFK Airport and San Francisco and Los Angeles.
