Another space tourist ready for orbit
The world’s third “space tourist” is reportedly getting for a trip to the International Space Station – for the cool price of just GBP10 million. According to Sky News, Dr Gregory Olsen, a multi-millionaire many times over, will take off on a Russian Soyuz rocket and spend a week on the space station. The trip is the third such odyssey to be organised by the Space Adventures company, which sent American Dennis Tito and South African Mark Shuttleworth into orbit. Dr Olsen is quoted as saying: “I hope that by travelling to the International Space Station I can help inspire today’s youth to dream big and to realise that education, hard work and a desire to achieve your vision is the magic of America.” He will begin his training at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre – in Russia – next month.
