AOT Group and TXA announce alliance

Monday, 26 May, 2008 0

In a major step forward for Australian tourism, The AOT Group has announced that they will be the first Australian wholesaler to become a point of sale for Australian product via  Tourism Exchange Australia (TXA), increasing the availability of e-commerce enabled Australian product to all Distributors utilizing the TXA.

“Distributors using TXA will now have access to the live inventory from over 1,000 tourism providers marketed by the AOT Group,  enhancing the marketability of Australian hotel rooms, apartments, seats and tickets throughout the world” said AOT Group CEO Andrew Burnes.

“Our partnership with TXA reinforces the AOT Groups position as one of the leading points of sale of Australian travel products globally and harnesses the power of TXA’s technology with AOT’s content” said Mr Burnes.

Liz Ward, General Manager of ATDW said “We are extremely pleased to welcome AOT Group as one of the main points of sale for Australian product within the TXA. It reinforces the open nature of TXA and the inherent principle that TXA is committed to ensure the transaction for a product occurs with trusted commercial players in the industry”.

Importantly, this initiative also shows the opportunities for wholesalers to take an active role in the TXA initiative and capitalize on their relationship with their clients. TXA reinforces the role of Wholesalers as one of the important options the Australian industry has in ensuring it is e-commerce enabled.

V3 Managing Director Shane Crockett explained that by utilizing the Open Booking Exchange TM technology TXA has been able to lead the way in providing a neutral exchange to enhance the on line marketing of Australian tourism products.

“The AOT Group wins because they have a bigger range of Distribution channels available to their supplier partners, the consumer wins, because they get to see a much wider range and choice of product and the Australian tourism suppliers win because they are able to reach many more potential customers” said Mr Crockett.
