The skies across Arizona light up with spectacular firework displays to celebrate July 4th. There are many family events, activities and programs commemorating the independence of America. At the 22nd Annual Fabulous Phoenix Fourth in Phoenix families can see the largest aerial fireworks display in the Southwest, including four stages of entertainment with local and national acts, a Kid’s World with carnival games and rides, hands-on activities and historic military vehicle displays – all free. Family fun and learning are on in Clarkdale, located in north central Arizona, at an Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration. This free event has been taking place for 35 years and has become a tradition for family fun. After the parade the Cottonwood Community Band will be entertaining the crowd with songs while families enjoy games. The celebration begins with a pancake breakfast. Rope in the good times at Eager Springerville’s 95th Annual July 4th Round Valley Rodeo & Parade. This annual event takes place in north central Arizona and includes a parade, bull riding & barrel racing competition, bands, two-day rodeo and fireworks. The festivities run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and ticket prices are $5.
For more rodeo fun, Flagstaff will be holding Rope America Fourth of July Team Roping. This event is one of the state’s largest team roping events and takes place from July 4-8. Teams from across the country will be competing for prize money. This free event is being held at the Mormon Lake Lodge Rodeo Arena near Flagstaff and features live entertainment.
