Armed robbers escape from agency with five-figure sum
Police are hunting two armed robbers who raided a travel agency and escaped with a five-figure sum.
Staff at the Thomas Cook branch on Dockhead Streat in Saltcoats, Glasgow, said two men wearing crash helmets threatened them with what appeared to be a gun.
Strathclyde police said that after grabbing the cash, the two fled the scene by motorbike.
Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident, which happened at 1700hrs on Friday, to get in touch on 01294 404500 or to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
The Thomas Cook staff were unhurt but they were said to be very distressed by the incident.
