Arriba, arriba, Aruba

KLM is to boost its weekly schedule of flights from Amsterdam to Aruba from two to five from October following strong growth in UK numbers to the island.

Brits can pick up the flights from departure points at 19 airports around the UK.

The move follows robust growth in visitor numbers to the Caribbean island. UK visitors increased by more than 26% in 2010.

Aruba Tourism Authority’s UK director Joanna Walding said: “Aruba is one of the fastest growing destinations in the Caribbean for British holidaymakers. With KLM’s increased service this winter, the island is becoming more accessible than ever. With temperatures rarely dipping below 28°C, Aruba is the perfect destination for some winter sun."

The new flights will depart from Amsterdam on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at 12.05pm.
