Art Series to open Brisbane hotel
The Art Series Hotel Group has acquitted a property in Spring Hill, Brisbane, to create its seventh Art Series Hotel.
The $155 million development will be the group’s largest hotel and residential project outside of Victoria.
The group plans to expand the brand around Australia over the next 18 months.
Keeping with the Art Series Hotel concept, the Brisbane hotel (due to open December 2015) will be named after a famous Australian artist with artwork to be displayed throughout the hotel.
The hotel will include a 70-metre long swimming pool, open-air cinema, volleyball court and golf driving range.
The Cullen hotel was the first Art Series Hotel to open in 2009, followed by The Olsen and The Blackman in 2010. The Watson is set to open in Adelaide in July 2014.
Last week the Art Series Hotel Group announced plans to open two Art Series Studios within the next 13 months.
The first will open in Bendigo in May 2014 followed by a second in Parkville, Melbourne.
The Studios will reflect an artist’s studio with communal spaces. Rooms will be filled with original artwork and prints, art books, art utensils and a dedicated art channel.
