ASH UPDATE – Charter and leisure flights take off again

Monday, 21 Apr, 2010 0

Thomson Airways flights due to return 1,800 passengers to Newcastle airport were all diverted to Gatwick, Stansted and Birmingham airports last night following the CAA’s announcement to re-open all UK airports.

Thomson Airways will be operating selected outbound UK flights from tomorrow (Thursday).

"We have taken the decision that the repatriation of those who are currently overseas is our priority," the airline said.

Monarch resumed flights from Uk airports in the early hours of this morning.

Monarch plans to run 75 scheduled flights between the UK and mainland Spain, the Balearic and Canary Islands, Portugal, Cyprus and Gibraltar.
