Ashes tour operator has ATOL bond called
An operator which sold flights and packages for the Ashes cricket tour in Australia in November has had its ATOL bond called in by the Civil Aviation Authority.
Raho Travel, trading as Kiwi Talk Travel and Oz Talk, was based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
Its ATOL bond of £584,239 will be used to repatriate and refund customers.
Raho Travel sold scheduled flight-onlys and package holidays to Australia and New Zealand including the Ashes Tour in November 2006, the CAA said.
The authority said that customers abroad will be able to fly home as planned and those passengers who booked scheduled flights only, and have received their air tickets, will be able to travel as planned.
But people holding scheduled airline tickets travelling on package holidays should not travel but instead apply for a refund from the CAA or their credit card issuer.
