ASTA board approves new membership categories
The board of directors of The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) unanimously approved a new business model to create two separate membership categories.
The two choices would be “premium” or “select.”
Select members would pay more for selected services on an a la carte basis.
Current membership dues of $365 would be reduced.
The two-tier model came after a survey of 14,000 travel agents. ASTA officials have been concerned about non renewals.
If the plan is approved, it could be in place within two years.
