ATC staff threaten summer strikes at Barcelona airport
Air traffic controllers at Barcelona airport are threatening a series of 24-hour strikes this summer in an ongoing dispute over working conditions.
The dates of the walk-outs have not been confirmed but will start on June 20.
The strikes have been called by the Air-Traffic Controllers’ Union (USCA) which is unhappy with staffing levels.
USCA, which represents around 94% of Spanish air traffic controllers, claims staff are having to work six days on and two days off rather than the normal five days on and three days off due to a staff shortage.
