ATEC Symposium moves to Sunshine Coast

Hyatt Regency Coolum will host next year’s Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) Annual Symposium, bringing 600 tourism leaders to the Sunshine Coast over two days in May 2012.

Hyatt Regency Coolum director of marketing Pip Close said the event was a significant opportunity for the Sunshine Coast at a time when Queensland was working hard to support its tourism sector.

Hyatt Regency Coolum was selected after a bid supported by Hyatt, Tourism Queensland, Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd, Tourism Noosa, Sunshine Coast Airport, UnderWater World and local tourism operators.

It will be ATEC’s 35th annual symposium and the first held on the Sunshine Coast.

The event will include a Sunshine Coast showcase, in which 100 inbound tour operators and other tourism suppliers will stage an exhibition for ATEC members at the resort.
