Atinera signs Travelocity in its biggest deal to date
Travelocity.com has opted for Atinera software to help it package its own travel products including air, hotel, car and transfers.
Previously,Travelocity was only able to sell packages that had been pre-built by tour operators but will now use Atinera’s Contour technology to service select reservations made under its Travelocity Vacations brand to its most popular holiday destinations.
The Travelocity deal is the biggest signing so far for the leisure travel technology firm. EMEA chief executive Stuart Winter (pictured left) said: “To be working with Travelocity.com clearly demonstrates how Atinera is able to best assist those companies working in the leisure travel market. Travel retailers are making the move from a commission-based business model to a more lucrative merchant model by taking ownership of and managing inventory more aggressively, Atinera’s technology supports that shift. The Travelocity.com partnership is a powerful market endorsement of the flexibility and scalability of our product.”
Atinera, a $60million joint venture between Amadeus and Fourth Dimension Software (FDS), was launched in October. Its solution for Travelocity is based on FDS’s Contour technology.
