ATOL compliant system ‘will help small agents’
Agents will be able to comply with ATOL regulations following the launch of a new back office system by TelMe Farebase, the company has said.
Aimed primarily at small retailers with limited funds, Farebase Back Office will enable agents to download ATOL-compliant invoices at £1 a time.
Farebase stressed agents will not be locked into a minimum contract or have to fork out for technology software. The only condition is that they commit to at least £20 of invoices per month.
Marketing executive Jeremy King said while there will be an initial set-up fee of £50, it will be credited against the first 50 invoices downloaded.
“ATOL regulations are being tightened and agents must now issue ATOL-complaint invoices the very moment the customer hands over cash,” he said. “This system will enable them to do that at a very low cost.”
Agents must be Farebase subscribers to access the system which costs £25 for the first user and £10 per subsequent user.
King added that invoices generated from a booking made online through the Farebase portal will be free.
