Attraction Tickets buys and predicts more consolidation
ATD Travel Services, parent of Attraction Tickets Direct, has acquired the assets of ticket broker Tickets International.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, includes the trading names of Mercury Travel and Tickets4fun.com.
ATD group’s existing brands include Attraction Tickets Direct, Dosomethingdifferent.com, as well specialist, dynamically packaged tour operator Complete Orlando.
Founder and CEO Oliver Brendon said: “Although it is yet to be decided whether we will keep its trading names, the purchase of Tickets International will increase our sales volume and provide economies of scale for us in 2009.
“In the current economic climate, further consolidation within our sector and the industry as a whole is likely and we may acquire other more competitor brands.
“We’re in a trading environment now where companies that have traded responsibly, grown organically and profitably will benefit.â€
