Australia to push ‘two week’ trips in new campaign
Tourism Australia is promoting the country as a ‘two week’ destination with a range of 13 day itineraries.
Figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows that arrivals from the UK were up 6.8% in 2013 compared to the previous year.
Its ‘There’s nothing like Australia’ campaign has been planned for April 2014 promoting trips lasting a fortnight which take in parts of the country.
These include Sydney, Blue Mountains and the Great Barrier Reef; Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road and South Australia and Perth, Margaret River and an outback tour of Kimberley and Darwin.
Denise von Wald, regional general manager UK/Northern Europe, Tourism Australia said: "Inspiring consumers with two week itineraries which are rich in diverse experiences but don’t involve taking on all the whole country, will help move Australia off the ‘wish list’ and on to the ‘shopping list’."
