Australians Invited to Star in New Zealand

Australians are being enticed to cross the Tasman and join the premiere New Zealand season of P&O Cruises’ Pacific Star, with fly/cruise deals starting at $1571 per person for a 12-night holiday.

The 1400-passenger Pacific Star will take a three-month sojourn from her Brisbane home-port to cruise from Auckland between May and July, visiting further afield South Pacific destinations such as Fiji, Samoa and Tonga.

Fly/cruise packages from Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne to New Zealand include return Qantas airfares, a pre-cruise overnight stay in Auckland and all accommodation, main meals and activities onboard.

“Cruising from Auckland opens up an array of new destinations which take much longer to reach from Australia, but can be visited in just a few days out of New Zealand,” P&O Cruises Australia Managing Director Gavin Smith said.

“It is a fabulous opportunity to explore parts of the South Pacific that many Australians don’t get to see very often. For example, an eight-night Pacific Star cruise from Auckland takes passengers to Fiji’s Yasawa-I-Rara Island, Suva and Dravuni Island with four luxurious days at sea as well.”

Some of the Pacific Star fly/cruise packages on offer from Australia include:

·        An 11-night cruise to Fiji and Tonga from $1571 per person in a complete 4-berth cabin departing June 20, 2006 from Auckland*

·        A 12-night cruise to Fiji and Vanuatu from $1722 per person in a complete 4-berth cabin departing July 30, 2006 from Auckland*

·        An 11-night cruise to Vanuatu and its islands from $1571 per person in a complete 4-berth cabin departing June 9, 2006 from Auckland*

To take advantage of these deals, bookings must be made by April 30, 2006. Cabin upgrades are also available from less than $5 per day, per person.

The 35,000 ton Pacific Star offers four dining venues, three swimming pools, wide open decks, four bars, choice of queen or twin bed configurations in most cabins, four kids’ clubs including the first Teen Centre at sea, a gym, casino, indulgent spa sanctuary and three jacuzzis.
